Parade Registration Form

Parade Floats, Vehicles, and Marcher Information/Guidelines

  • All Amherst individuals, families, neighborhoods, organizations, or businesses are welcome to enter a float or mini float suitable for family entertainment as long as the theme of the float is in

  • keeping with the theme of the parade. The 2026 theme is “Celebrating the American Story: 1776-2026.”

  • Marching groups are welcome but are asked to wear clothing that unifies the group and carry a banner of some sort to identify the group.

  • Groups or organizations outside of Amherst may be permitted with permission of the Amherst Fourth of July Committee only.

  • Floats or signs deemed offensive may be requested to be removed or refused participation in the parade.

  • Commercial advertising is limited to one sign no larger than 3’ or 5’ unless otherwise agreed to by the committee.

  • The parade will step off promptly at 10:00 AM Friday, July 4th, 2025 from Wilkins Elementary School on Boston Post Rd.

  • Check in time is 9:15 AM for all parade entries.

  • Parking for parade participants is behind Wilkins Elementary School.

  • Judging of floats will take place at Wilkins School at 9:30 AM on the morning of the parade.

  • No items of any sort, including candy, may be thrown or handed out by parade participants (Insurance Regulations).

  • Parade Vehicles, effective September 16, 2007, cannot have protruding or outrigger wheels unless

  • vehicle is suitably modified to protect riders and pedestrians. (pursuant to RSA 265:108a)

  • All motorized vehicles must be registered/insured and a copy of liability insurance sent to the

  • address below no later than 6/27/2025.

  • Animals must be under the control of their owners. Dogs must be on a leash.

  • The parade will only be cancelled if there is thunder and lightning with no rain date for the parade.

    This form is not for campaigning groups.
